A 19-YEAR-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, following an incident in Haverfordwest on Monday, September 19.

The man, from the Haverfordwest area, remains in police custody following the incident, in which a local teenager was wounded.

It took place at Rifleman’s Field at around 3.40pm.

The victim is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Police received a report just after 3.35pm that a man had been injured in Rifleman Field, Hammond Avenue, near St Thomas' Green.

Ambulance and air ambulance were called to the scene, and the casualty - understood to be 18-year-old Jordan Rees - was airlifted to Morriston hospital for treatment at around 4pm.

A witness told the Western Telegraph that half the field and the basketball court have been cordoned off, with police officers still in attendance and enquiries ongoing.

Reports were also received of police presence - including armed officers - at Goshawk Road while the incident at Rifleman's Field was unfolding.

It is as yet unclear whether the two incidents were related.
