ART and textiles students at Tasker Milward School have been exhibiting their work to the public during a week-long exhibition.

Located in the school, the exhibition features GCSE and A-level art from the last academic year.

Head of art, Chris Prosser, who co-organised the display, said it was great to see such a range of work on show.

“We’re celebrating the pupils’ achievement and are really proud with their work,” he said.

“There is such diversity, with portraits, landscapes and figurative art.”

Students from all year groups were given the chance to view the art.

Vivienne Ugwudike was one of the students who had her A-level projects on show.

“I was inspired by photos taken in Porto and used ink and ink washes to get the dripping effect which I really like,” she said.

“Seeing it all here in the exhibition here is great.”

Vivienne, who has now completed her studies at Taker Milward, is now going on to the University of Bath to read architecture.

Current A-level student Aaron Davies was exhibiting his AS-level work which was based on a chapter of the book Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.

“The theme for the project was dockside and I made the waves with a vectographic – it’s more of a mathematical way to make art,” he said.

After finishing his A-levels, Aaron plans to study art and design and university before working in interior design.

The exhibition opened on Monday, September 19 and finishes on Tuesday.
