Staying stylish while travelling through Pembrokeshire on two wheels on Sunday was the challenge for a convoy of sartorially-elegant motorcyclists.

Over 40 riders, whose transport ranged from Harley-Davidsons to scooters, took part in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride - a world-wide event which is raising money and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.

They were amongst 50,000 riders taking part in 500 venues in over 90 countries across the globe, with the aim of raising 5m dollars.

The Pembrokeshire riders, who have raised more than £4,700 - made a spectacular sight as they left Saundersfoot harbour car park on Sunday morning.

The dapper convoy, featuring ladies as well as gentlemen, were suitably suited and booted for the event, with one rider even complementing his Harley-Davidson with a kilt!

They rode through Tenby, Pembroke and on to Haverfordwest via the Cleddau Bridge, for a stop in the car park of Tesco, Haverfordwest, and also called in at Narberth Food Festival before returning to Saundersfoot.

“The response to the ride this year has been phenomenal,” said its Pembrokeshire organiser, Steve Dean.

“There were more than three times as many riders as last year, and the effort they put into raising funds and getting their gear together for the event shows what a good spirit there is in Pembrokeshire.

“We’ve already hearing from more people who want to sign up for the ride next year, and we plan to continue raising money and awareness throughout the year.”
