HAVERFORDWEST is set to shine for the festive season with the town’s Christmas lights switched on this Saturday, November 26 at 6pm.

From 3pm there will be entertainment and music presented by Radio Pembrokeshire at Riverside Shopping.

Town mayor, Cllr Alan Buckfield, will switch on the lights at 6pm. There will then be a fireworks display from the castle.

Goodwick, Thursday December 1

GOODWICK’S Christmas light switch on will take place on the town square at 6 pm on the night of Thursday December 1.

Supported by the Lions, Father Christmas will be visiting and there should be music and merriment for all.

Fishguard, Friday December 2

FISHGUARD: The lights will go on the Golden Mile, at 6 pm on Friday December 2 followed by a lantern parade up to the Town Hall. Participants are invited to bring their own battery powered lantern to join in the parade.

Father Christmas is due to arrive at Fishguard Town Hall at around 6.15pm. Accompanied by a very special helper, he will be waiting to meet as many local children as possible, and has a little gift for all. The Lions Club and the RNLI have once again joined forces to provide Santa’s grotto.

The Library will be open with crafts and other activities going on and in the town hall there will be stalls and hot and cold refreshments.

Local business will be open for late night shopping and eating As with last year, the event promises to be a bumper night for local people and a good start the festive season. Everyone is welcome. Whitland, Friday December 2

WHITLAND Christmas lights switch-on and Christmas market. Friday December 2, starting at 5pm. As well as an appearance by Father Christmas, there will be a special Christmas market in the town - look out for the stalls in St John Street.

Saundersfoot, Friday December 2, Saturday December 3 and Sunday December 4.

SAUNDERSFOOT is getting ready for its three-day St Nicholas Christmas Market, which takes place in and around a giant marquee on the seafront on Friday December 2, Saturday December 3 and Sunday December 4.

Against the backdroop of the village's sparkling festive lights, the market opens at 2pm on the Friday with carols from Saundersfoot CP School choir. Then, at 5.30pm, the schoolchildren and their families are inviting everyone to join in their illuminated lantern parade which will move off from the Strand at 5.30pm.

The procession, led by Santa, will make its way through the market and over to the harbour decking for the switch-on of its illuminations.

The market, organised by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism, features over 50 festive stalls, live music, chef demonstrations, children's rides and Santa's Grotto.

Tenby, Saturday December 3

TENBY Town Council, Tenby Chamber of Trade, Tenby LVA, Tenby RNLI and Tenby Lions, Tenby Round Table and Tenby (DVP) Trust have lined up a feast of festive fun for young and old as the town counts down to the big day.

The Yuletide merriment starts on Saturday 3rd December when Father Christmas will arrive to help Mayor of Tenby, Cllr. Laurence Blackhall, turn on the lights of the Christmas Tree in the grounds of St Mary’s Church.

The Salvation Army band and the Friendship Group carollers will kick off the afternoon with Christmas carols while local DJ Steve Briers will be on hand in the Square from 3 pm playing some festive favourites At around 4.30 pm Cllr. Blackhall will head down to Tenby Lifeboat Station to join the crew of the Haydn Miller as they launch to head out towards Caldey to meet Father Christmas.

Arriving back on shore at around 5.15 they will then jump onto the ILB to be towed into the Square ready to turn the lights on at 5.30 pm. We’re also promised a festive flurry of snow from the roof of Tenby House Hotel to greet their arrival.

From there the Mayor and Father Christmas will hop onto Tenby Carriage Rides carriage for a horse drawn trip up to the De Valence where Father Christmas will welcome children into his grotto and the evening will round off with a Christmas Family Fun Night.

Milford Haven, Saturday, December 3

MILFORD HAVEN: Santa is preparing to visit his favourite town of Milford Haven!

Jim Hughes from 102.5 Radio Pembrokeshire will again be compèring in his inimitable fashion.

There will be fun, laughter, singing, children's rides, and SO much more.
