KIND-HEARTED bikers the 3 Amigos are once again gearing up for this Saturday’s annual motorcycle charity toy run, in aid of Withybush children’s ward and Action For Children.

The 15th 3 Amigos Christmas toy run meets at Pembroke’s Commons Car Park at 11am on December 10, with piper Graham Phillips greeting them from 12.30pm before they leave at 1pm.

The event, which normally attracts hundreds of riders, will see the bikers riding through Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Neyland, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest before arriving at Withybush’s conference centre.

Last year saw some 200 motorcyclists take part.

Many of the riders bring toys and gifts to add to the large collection at the ward.

Gifts for the youngsters are also being collected at drop-off points throughout the county in the run-up to the popular event.

So far, drop-off points include branches of Tees R Us, The All Cut Up salon in Milford Haven, A1 road skills and Castle Photography in Haverfordwest and the Co-op in Kilgetty.

Post-run, there will be an evening party with Jack Sound playing live music, an auction and raffle also a gourmet burger van selling hot food at Pembroke Dock Cricket Club, with doors opening 7.30pm (Christmas fancy dress welcome).

Last year The Amigos also raised £3,000, split equally between the two charities.

One of the 3 Amigos organisers Ness Moseley said: “We were down a little bit in numbers but we still had a massive amount of bikes. People were out on the streets, not as many as usual, but people were sitting in their cars on the side of the road cheering us.

“One lady said on Facebook it made her proud to live in Pembrokeshire.”

The Amigos have recently been holding collections days at Haverfordwest’s Tesco and Morrisons stores.
