PEMBROKE was recently the scene of an ‘invasion’ by 50-plus Santas and Elves.

School pupils, parents, family members and supporters dressed for the second Jingle Jog held by the town’s Golden Grove School.

The December 3 event, organised by The Friends Of Golden Grove (FOGG) saw the festive joggers set off from Pembroke’s Castle Pond on two courses to The Mill Bridge, along the Mill Pond Walk and on to East End with a finish by the Christmas Tree in St Michaels Square. The event is a firm favourite with the school community.

School concerts are now in full swing with pupils performing a variety of Christmas celebrations. Cakes have been made for coffee mornings and the hall and corridors of the school have been decorated by all classes.

Members of the choir have been singing at Monkton Church and in the ASDA store in Pembroke Dock, they also delighted the people attending the recent opening of the Christmas Fair at Pembroke Castle.

St Mary’’s Church in Pembroke was the scene for a delightful concert put on by pupils from the Welsh and English Year Six classes. With a medley of music, carols and readings the well-attended family service delighted all.

Head Teacher Andrew Williams said: “It has been a delightful time for the pupils of the school. The festive celebrations are an important part of our calendar and I am grateful for the support from the families of the pupils involved in such a wide range of activities. We are grateful too for the support for our local community.”
