The Cleddau Bridge was closed for more than two hours yesterday evening (Tuesday), as emergency service teams tried to talk down a man threatening to take his own life.
In the second incident at the bridge in a week, a 35-year-old man threatened to kill himself by jumping off the bridge.
A concerned member of the public alerted the emergency services at 4.50pm.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene as well as a fire appliance which remained on standby, Angle RNLI inshore lifeboat and a police boat stood off at a safe distance from the scene, a police helicopter was also in attendance.
A police negotiator managed to talk the man down shortly before the bridge reopened at 6.30pm.
Police confirmed that the man is now in custody in Haverfordwest police station.
A similar incident, where a man threatened to jump from the bridge, occurred last Saturday. Police were unable to confirm whether the same man was involved in both incidents.
