Ysgol Wdig pupil, Zachariah Owen, has brought home the bronze, following the recent National Urdd Swimming Gala.
Year 4 pupil Zachariah is a keen sportsman and a member of Fishguard Sports AFC and Fishguard Flyers swimming club.
Last year he came first in the backstroke for year 3 & 4 pupils at the Pembrokeshire Urdd Swimming Gala as well as coming third in freestyle.
He then went on to the national championships at Cardiff International Pool on Saturday, January 21.
In a strong field Zachariah qualified for the final with the fourth fastest time in the heats. He went one better in the final to come third, gaining a bronze medal.
"This is a fantastic and well-deserved achievement," said Ysgol Wdig headmaster, Jonathan Jones. "Da iawn Zachariah."
