Emergency services blocked off Goat Street in Haverfordwest this afternoon, after a house fire broke out.
Large plumes of smoke could be seen coming from a property near Foley House.
One person is understood to have been in the property when the fire started, but is not thought to have been injured.
Police, ambulance and firefighters attended, and traffic and pedestrians were asked to use an alternative route.
A neighbour said he heard a loud bang at around 5pm, which sounded like someone closing a door.
"When I heard the second one I realised it must be something else," he said.
"Then we saw smoke coming from near the back of the house so came out to see what was happening."
Emergency services knocked on doors in the street to alert residents to the fire.
UPDATE: Fire engines have now left the scene, and neighbours have begun returning to their homes.
