A HAVERFORDWEST woman, who lost control of her car while avoiding a potential head-on collision, is appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact police.

Andrea Hope, 35, was travelling home from work in Pembroke Dock to Haverfordwest on Thursday afternoon, February 16, when she was forced to avoid an oncoming car, which she says was completing a dangerous overtake between Burton and Houghton.

While swerving to avoid the oncoming car, Andrea lost control and her car rolled over.

Fortunately Andrea didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries, but neither the red oncoming car, nor the charcoal-coloured car it overtook, stopped.

Andrea, who said she was “lucky to be alive,” adding: ““The most upsetting thing was that they don't know looking at the car or when passing me that I was alive and to just carry on? I just don't understand some people but I'm just thankful to be here.”

Andrea has expressed her gratitude to those that did help following the crash.

“Can you thank a John from Llangwm, Morgan Scale, Amanda field- Thomas, and all the other kind people who had the decency to stop and help me.”

Posting on Facebook, Andrea wrote: “Can the person who left the scene of this accident today at 3.10pm between Burton and Houghton have the decency to come forward.

“Any witnesses that seen absolutely anything, there would’ve been a car that was being overtaken right outside the Beggars Reach.

“The police are currently investigating and taking statements from the witnesses we have, CCTV is being examined. Any information will be appreciated.”

Andrea is also hoping any motorists using the road at around that time, who may have a dash cam, may be able to help.

Anyone with any information please contact Dyfed-Powys Police on 101.
