PEMBROKESHIRE will soon welcome a family of refugees from Syria.
A spokesman for the council told the Western Telegraph that the council was making final preparations to house a family of six.
Due to criteria set by the Home Office, appropriate accommodation and support needs to be in place before the family can come to the county.
Local authorities across Wales have already welcomed families as part of the Syrian Vulnerable Person Resettlement (VPR) Programme.
According to the latest figures by the Home Office, the number of refugees resettled in Wales currently stands at just under 400.
Matthew Hemsley, Campaigns and Advocacy Manager for Oxfam Cymru, said the situation for many families remained "desperate".
"We welcome the fact that local authorities in Wales are continuing to play their part in this effort, welcoming many more refugees to communities right across the country," he said.
