AFTER a successful 2016, culminating in a Christmas charity event for Paul Sartori, Pembroke Dock’s Samba Doc band launches its 2017 season with a new musical director.

In support of sports events, Samba Doc can be seen at The Long Course Weekend and Ironman Wales based in Tenby again this year, as well as the Tour of Pembrokeshire on May 20, and the Fishguard Triathlon on July 29.

The successful run of free youth workshops in the winter months, gave the band an opportunity to share its love of Samba with enthusiastic youngsters throughout the county.

Thanks to the ever-increasing membership from their annual September course, or from interested parties who just come along to ‘have a go’, the band is going from strength-to-strength.

Although not all members join with musical experience they work together and support each other in rehearsals to produce a fun-loving performance at every event.

On Thursdays nights from 6.30-9pm, members can be found at St Teilo’s Church Hall, London Road, Pembroke Dock. Pop along or get in touch if you would like to find out more.

If you would like to book Samba Doc during 2017, or apply for a free charity gig, you can do so online at sambadoc.org.uk, or contact sambadoc@hotmail.co.uk or by phone 07971 604714.
