A PEMBROKE support worker is hoping the county will back her hopes of representing the county by becoming Miss Wales 2017.

Vicky Prior, 19, is representing Pembrokeshire in the Miss Wales finals, being held in Newport on April 8.

There’s little more than three weeks to vote for Vicky in her hopes to gain the top title.

Vicky said: “I would be so grateful if you could vote for me to be your Miss Wales 2017.

“I am a support worker based in the west Wales area where I support both children and adults with autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. I love my job and wouldn't change it for the world.

“My ambitions in life are to guide those around us and to raise awareness for different charities around the world. I love doing charity work, it makes me feel so good about myself whilst helping others around me. My aim in life is to become a children's nurse and work in hospitals all over the world.”

Vicky has already achieved many things in her journey to, hopefully, become Miss Wales 2017.

She has been on the fast zip wire in the world and the longest in Europe in Snowdonia, organised a children's party, and hosted a pub quiz, along with attending young achiever awards in Pembrokeshire, and a homeless food collection in Morrisons, and hopes to do many more in the future.

Vicky, sponsored by Miss Jones Hair and Beauty and Castle Photography, added: “My Miss Wales journey has been the best experience of my life, I can say I have truly made life-long friends and have gained so much confidence in myself, while raising money for Beauty With A Purpose which supports disadvantaged children.

“I aspire to be an empowered woman with vision and grace whilst looking for something positive in each day, even if some days you need to look a little harder.”
