HAVERFORDWEST has sprung into life this weekend with an egg-squisite Easter-themed yarnbombing installation.

The talented team of knitters were up at the crack of dawn this morning to decorate the town with flowers, rabbits, chicks and even a giant Humpty Dumpty.

Quay Street, Castle Square and the High Street have all been transformed by the budding town decorators.

This project is the result of four months’ hard work by around 30 members of the Haverfordwest yarnbombers.

A spokeswoman from the group said: “This is for the people of Haverfordwest.

“So many people comment on how nice it looks. And it also brings a lot of people into town.

“We would like to thank everyone in and around Haverfordwest for the continued support shown to us, and because of that we will carry on.”

This is the first of three installations that members have planned for 2017.

The woolly works will be on display for around four weeks, depending on weather.

Once removed, members of the public can purchase the designs. Profits will go towards buying more yarn.

The group is always looking for experienced crocheters and knitters to join them every Wednesday from 5.30pm at The Lab in Haverfordwest.
