Firefighters have extinguished a blaze in Snowdrop Lane Haverfordwest this afternoon which sent large plumes of smoke over the area.

At least three fire engines went to the scene with hoses running along the street.

Dyfed-Powys Police officers were also in attendance but the road remained open.

It is thought the fire started in garages to the rear of Snowdrop Lane near to the Factory Outlet shop which has not been affected.

Bushes near motor repair garage Haworth Autobody were on fire. The garage has not been damaged.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze and gained access through the former RAOB Club.

An eyewitness said: “I was at the Paul Sartori charity shop and could see huge plumes of black smoke so went to have a look.

“I thought Haverfordwest was a quiet town, you don’t expect this sort of thing to happen.”
