POLICE are investigating claims that a Conservative party volunteer assaulted a man in Manorbier.
Simon Morres, 36, claims he was assaulted by 59-year-old John Kilcoyne on Tuesday, May 9.
The incident is alleged to taken place while Mr Kilcoyne, a former policeman, was erecting signs on land at Wheelers Way on behalf of Conservative party candidate and sitting Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire MP Simon Hart.
Mr Morres claims the signs were being put up without the permission of his ex-partner, who is the field’s lease holder.
Dyfed-Powys Police said: "The force received a report of an assault without injury at approximately 9.40am on Tuesday, May 9.
"The incident took place at Wheelers Way, Manorbier. The investigation is on-going."
Mr Hart told the Western Telegraph he had been advised by police not to comment on the matter.
