A group of ladies from Haverfordwest will be rising to a challenge tonight (Saturday) as they on join the Women v Cancer “Ride The Night” cycle challenge in London.

The group are all members of Haverfordwest Soroptimists and Tangent, none are experienced cyclists. They will be joining approximately 3000 other women cyclists on the 100km route from Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace and back again.

Julia Brady, Sandra Cromwell, Carolyn Davies, Julie Davies, Sian Hill, Julie John, Deena Irving, Bethan Lewis, Heidi Lewis, Helen Lewis, Marina Morgan, Rhi Price and Tina Weake have all been in training cycling the hilly cycle paths and roads in Pembrokeshire in preparation for the big night.

Women v Cancer is a series of women-only cycle challenges in aid of three British charities – Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, raising vital funds to fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers. As well as raising money for the charities, the group are raising awareness for the charities.

The group have been sponsored by Maggs Optics, Hotel Mariners and Coronation Chippy to help with expenses for the event.
