A local hotel manager is facing charges of dangerous driving, taking a car and crashing it following an incident in Haverfordwest over the weekend.

A six year-old girl is believed to have been in the back of a car allegedly taken from the petrol station at Withybush Retail Park on Saturday afternoon.

Rhys Blow, 28, of London Road, Pembroke Dock, appeared from custody at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday.

He is accused of causing criminal damage to Withybush hospital’s main glass doors, stealing two bottles of wine, taking a Honda Civic without the owner’s consent and involving it in an accident before it was recovered.

It is also alleged that the owner of the car was dragged for 30 yards, causing him injury, and damage was caused to a petrol pump and a bollard at the entrance to Boots.

Blow also faces charges of driving dangerously in a public place, driving while disqualified and without insurance.

No pleas were entered to any of the offences, which are alleged to have taken place at around 5pm on June 10, and a not guilty plea was entered by the court on his behalf.

Blow was remanded in custody until his next hearing at Swansea crown court on July 14.

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Officers are particularly interested in speaking to a taxi driver who assisted police by blocking the car’s exit.

Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Haverfordwest Police by calling 101. If you are Deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired text the non-emergency number on 07811 311 908, quoting Ref: 287 of June 10.
