There might be a party in Roch this week as 10 neighbours are celebrating winning People’s Postcode Lottery’s Street Prize with postcode, SA62 6AZ.

Seven winners won £30,000 while the other three play with two tickets so doubled the prize to £60,000.

Robert Bleasdale (50), one of the £60,000 winners, said: “It’s fantastic! We’ll be able to get some holidays booked straight away which we haven’t been able to do for a while, and we’ll be able to help our daughter buy her first house.

"The money going to charity is a big part of why I play – you never know when you’re going to need support yourself – so I’ll definitely keep playing.”

Steven Jones (68) also won £60,000: “It’s unbelievable – I can’t get my head round that amount of money.

"I have no idea what to do with it. My wife Carol wants a new kitchen, and we’ll help the kids out.

"Mostly, it’s nice to have some money behind us, a bit of a safety net.”

Ann Grimes (68) and her partner Brian were both speechless when presented with the £60,000 cheque: “I’m so, so glad,” said Ann.

“I can’t believe it but if you’re not playing you must get involved – it’s for a good cause.”

Vivien Phelps (63) and her husband Roger Stephens (69) won £30,000 each.

Vivien said they’ll need to have a good think about what to do with the money, adding “you just never think it’ll happen to you!”

Mark Hammond (49) is delighted with his £30,000 win: “What a surprise! I know all of my neighbours who won so the excitement was building as I could see them all getting their knocks at the door.

"It’s fantastic that we’re going to be able to celebrate together. My wife Tracy and I are doing up the house at the moment so some of the money will go towards that, and my son and daughter are both in their twenties so will each be getting a bit.”

Jackie Gilderdale (51) was shocked by the prize: “It’s a massive amount that will make such a difference. My mum and dad are both poorly at the moment – I’ll definitely be treating my dad to the best Father’s Day he’s ever had.”

Jacqueline Stevens (59) was happy to win with her neighbours: “It’s wonderful to know that my neighbours, who are all friends, are sharing this fantastic experience with us.”

The two other winners were not home to receive their cheques.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Danyl Johnson, said, “It was great to meet so many winners here in Roch. The neighbours all knew each other which was really nice to see as that’s what People’s Postcode Lottery is all about – communities winning together.”
