ST DAVIDS RNLI all-weather lifeboat Norah Wortley launched to the aid of a ten metre yacht stranded one nautical mile east of St David's Head.

The yacht, with two crew on-board, was on passage from North Wales to Porthcawl. She had suffered electronic navigational failure and was stuck in thick fog, with visibility of less than 50 metres.

The lifeboat and volunteer crew launched at 5.50pm and was soon on scene. The crew secured a tow line to the casualty vessel, and started to tow the yacht back to the RNLI emergency mooring in St Justinian's. The lifeboat rehoused at 7.40pm.

The yacht and her crew stayed overnight at St Justinian's before travelling to Milford Haven.
