AN OPPORTUNITY to support Milford Haven's heritage, and preserve it for future generations, launches on Friday (August 4).

Milford Haven Museum's new patron scheme offers locals and visitors alike the chance to sign up for a year's membership for just £20.

The museum, which relies on donations from local bodies and the public, is the town's largest collection of local treasures, celebrating the town's history.

The money raised by the scheme will help support the museum, which offers a glimpse into Milford's fishing and energy links, and is a great place for schoolchildren to learn more about this part of the county.

Said museum chairman, and mayor of Milford Haven, Cllr Colin Sharp: "The museum is one of Milford Haven's main attractions and welcomes many visitors from all over the world.

"We are inviting people to become part of our museum by joining our patrons scheme.

"By doing so, you will not only be kept up to date on all that's happening within the museum, you will be playing a important part in securing it's future."

The event takes place at 11am at the museum.

The museum will also be open between 6pm and 8pm on Saturday, September 2, ahead a screening of Night at the Museum, as part of Milford Waterfront and the Torch Theatre's Sunset Cinema project.

Anyone purchasing a ticket to see the film will gain free entry into the museum.

Tickets will be available from the Torch Theatre box office.
