SHE could be the next Miss Pembrokeshire… but before she can, a student from Haverfordwest needs a sponsor to take her into the competition.

Hannah Van Assche, 17, entered the 2018 Miss Pembrokeshire competition because she wanted to raise money to help people in her area, but she needs to find £500 in sponsorship money by October 2 to be able to start her campaign.

“To be honest it is not something I would usually push myself to do, but I like to challenge myself,” said the fashion and design student, currently studying at Pembrokeshire College.

Hannah plans to hold fundraising events in aid of Beauty with a Purpose, the registered charity of the Miss Wales competition, which has raised £500m to help people from disadvantaged backgrounds across Wales.

If you are interested in helping Hannah start her Miss Pembrokeshire campaign contact Maria Van Assche on 07874061949, or muz92057@yahoo.com, or visit the Facebook page Hannah Van Assche Miss Pembrokeshire Finalist.

Hannah’s mother Maria said her daughter is focused on helping people and building her own confidence rather than winning: “They have changed the focus of the beauty pageant. It is more about your own drive and ambition now – it is a journey for the competitors.”

The money can come from a business or individual, or a combination of sources, and the sponsors will be given free tickets to the Miss Wales final in Newport, Gwent in April 2018.
