FISHGUARD RNLI's inshore lifeboat was launched this morning (Wednesday) to a yacht dragging its anchor off Goodwick beach.

This is the second time the lifeboat has been called to the same yacht in the space of six days.

Last Friday (September 15) the inshore boat was launched following reports of the 30ft yacht with one person aboard, thought to be dragging its anchor.

The vessel had been seen by a member of the public who called 999. The wind had driven the yacht towards Goodwick beach and its tender had broken loose and drifted onto the beach.

The inshore lifeboat and its volunteer crew were quickly alongside the yacht. They quickly established that the anchor was now holding well. The person onboard was not in danger and was insistent upon staying aboard so the lifeboat retired and returned to base.

This morning the same yacht was having engine trouble and once again dragging its anchor towards the breakwater. This time the lifeboat towed the yacht to a more sheltered outside mooring at Lowertown.
