SOME incredible displays from six members of the Pembrokeshire Special Needs Gymnastics Club (PSNGC) saw them return home from the Special Olympics in Sheffield with 26 medals between them.

Leon Davies, Joshua Critten, Jake Morgans, Adele Bevan, Lydia James, and Jemma Bowie-Hallam formed part of the 170 strong Welsh squad, and between them won 7 gold medals, 10 silvers, and 9 bronze.

Overall, Wales took home 205 medals, with 59 golds, 82 silvers, and 64 bronze.

“Obviously we are very proud of them,” said PSNG coach Amy Yelland.

“They performed and behaved so well and loved every moment.

“Now they can really build on this in future competitions and the experience of the Special Olympics should be a real confidence boost.”

The results of the PSNGC gymnasts were as follows:

Leon Davies: 4 bronze medals (vault, pommel, high bar, floor); 4th place (bars, overall), 5th place (rings).
Joshua Critten: 3 gold medals (rings, pommel, high bar); 2 silver (vault, floor); 1 bronze (overall), 5th place (bars).
Jake Morgans: 1 gold medal (floor), 2 silver (rings, overall); 1 bronze (pommel), 4th place (vault, high bar), 8th place (bars).
