A DECADE of dinky dramas is being celebrated at Theatr Gwaun, Fishguard, on Saturday, September 30, at the tenth Pint Sized Plays Script Slam.

The international play writing competition has this year attracted over 350 entries from all over the world and this year's shortlist includes entries from the USA, New Zealand and Wales.

The six winners and four runners up have been performed in Tenby and Haverfordwest pubs in the lead up to Saturday. They will all be performed at Theatr Gwaun in the regular annual Script Slam, where the audience gets to vote for its favourite script and performance.

Competing this year for the coveted Pint-Pot award are: Battle Lines by Stephanie Weston, Conceited Council Consents by Myles Alexander Lind, Custardy by Neil Walden, Fagbutt in the Fishbowl by Roy Brown, Never Give Up by James Hutchison, and Payback by Roger Goldsmith. Adding to these competition winners will be the following runners up: Dead Cert Society by Tracey Morley, The Internal Quadrangle by Hugh Smith, The Power Of The Sandwich by Grahame Roy Maclean, and True To You by Nicky Denovan.

"Each year we seem to attract a wider range of themes, and this year's crop is more diverse than ever," said Pint-sized Plays organiser, Derek Webb.

"I am also proud that our home-grown competition has now become internationally respected, reflected in the geographical spread of our entrants."

It is hoped that at least six of the winning writers will be able to attend the Script Slam – including one from New Zealand!

The 2017 Pint-Sized Plays Script Slam starts at 7.30pm on Saturday Sept 30 at Theatr Gwaun in Fishguard. Tickets (£7.50) can be booked on pintsizedplays.org.uk – or bought on the door.
