PARENTS of pupils at Archway School in Stroud are being asked to remind their children about 'stranger danger’ following an incident yesterday, Thursday.

A male pupil was approached by a man in an alley near Jack Russell Close on his way home from school yesterday at 3.50pm.

The man followed him after saying: "Hello little boy"

The boy carried on walking and went straight home when the incident was reported to the police by the pupil’s parents.

A letter has been sent out to all parents by headteacher Colin Belford.

It says: “We will be reminding students of our advice regarding stranger danger in tutor time next week.

A police spokesman said: “Advice remains that anyone being the victim of inappropriate behaviour should report the matter to them.”

The man was described as around 5ft 2ins tall, aged around 50, with short grey hair.

He was wearing a grey Regatta-type anorak, and may have been carrying a bag.

Anyone with information should call Gloucestershire police on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk quoting incident number 312 of October 6.
