MORE THAN 50 cannabis plants have been seized from fields in a village just outside Newport.
A member of the public had tipped police off about the crop in an outside area in Redwick at 3.20am on Friday morning.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended and seized, what is believed to be, over 50 cannabis plants. Enquiries are ongoing.
“We’d like to encourage our communities to continue to work with us to target drug dealing in our area by calling us in confidence on 101, 999 in an emergency or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
