SHOPPERS eager for a bargain take note: Lidl has announced an opening date for its newly rebuilt Haverfordwest store -- and it's sooner than you might think.

Lidl UK has confirmed the Perrots Road store will reopen its doors to customers at 8am on Thursday, November 16 after undergoing a complete rebuild and refurbishment. 

In addition to the opening day events, customers will be able to enjoy up to £40 off non-food items during the first week of trading.

Highlights include an overlock sewing machine (£79, RRP £119) from Thursday 16th, a professional food processor & blender (£39.99, RRP £79.99) from Friday 17th, and a wireless speaker (£29.99, RRP £49.99) from Saturday 18th November.

Lidl UK’s Regional Head of Property Paul Hebblethwaite thanked everyone who played a part in improving the Lidl store in Haverfordwest.

"It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community once again,” he said.

Up to 20 new jobs have been created for the local community at the new store.

The sales area of the supermarket has increased in size to 1,424m² and the sustainable store boasts state-of-the-art facilities including a bakery, longer dual-style tills, customer toilets, baby changing and parking for both cars and bicycles.

The new store has a fully glass-fronted façade allowing natural daylight to enter the building, The electrical lighting system is made up of LED fittings which are over 50% more energy efficient than a traditional lighting system. 

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing expansion and regeneration plans in the UK which will see it open between 50 to 60 stores a year.
