AMAZON is giving free year of Prime membership to every household in Marloes and St. Brides to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the programme.

Ten villages across the UK have been chosen as Prime Villages, including Marloes, as due to their small size they have a higher than UK average frequency of Prime subscribers.

Every household in the 10 villages will be sent a special unlock code which when entered on Amazon.co.uk will give them a free-year of the subscription service.

“We moved to Marloes – one of Amazon’s Prime Villages - two and a half years ago and the fast next day delivery with Amazon Prime has been invaluable to us,” said Paul Lucas who runs Marloes’ village café.

“We’ve used Prime to order everything from sports equipment and tools to an oven for our new café kitchen.

“To be able to get such a wide selection of items delivered the next day at the touch of a button has saved us so much time. It’s really made it so much easier to set up home out here in this beautiful, rural location.”

The 10 Prime Villages include: Calvert Green, Buckinghamshire; Churchover, Warwickshire; Daresbury, Cheshire; Garvald and Bara, East Lothian; Holwell, Hertfordshire; Kirkton of Tough, Aberdeenshire; Llanwern, Newport; Marloes and St. Brides, Pembrokeshire; Roughfort, County Antrim; and Rubane, County Down.

The most popular Prime orders over the past decade include Cards Against Humanity, Adele’s album 25 and the Frozen DVD alongside Amazon’s own devices, the Fire TV Stick, Echo and Echo Dot.

The most watched Amazon Prime Originals on Prime Video since launch include Transparent, The Grand Tour and The Man in the High Castle while the most popular songs on Prime Music since launch are Uptown Funk, Get Lucky and All About That Bass.
