Haverfordwest

MRS Dorothy Davies of Elmsgate. Haverfordwest passed away at Withybush Hospital on November 10.

She was 77 years of age.

Originally from Burton she was a housewife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She was predeceased by her husband Ken in 2000 and daughter Debbie in 2005.

The family left to mourn are daughters and partners Cathy, Richard, Mandy, Andy, Jenny, Derick, Susan Jones, Tracie and Dessie; sons Peter, Dawn Michael and Sara; sister Sheila; brother David; 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter plus nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

Beautiful words were read in the church by her granddaughter Nickie, grandson Chrissy.

The bearers were Chrissy, Danny, Andrew, James, Johnathan, Joey (grandsons).

There were family flowers only.

The funeral service was officiated by Rev Alun Evans.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Roy Folland and Son Ltd, of Haverfordwest.

Mrs E A James

Kilgetty

MRS Elizabeth Audrey James (Betty) of James Park, Kilgetty passed away at Pencoed Care Home, Wooden on November 4.

She was 89.

Originally from Cardiff she worked at David Morgan in Cardiff prior to marriage and moving to Llanteg in 1950.

Betty lived there happily and was an active member of village life for the next 45 years, before moving to Kilgetty.

Betty’s main interests were her family and was always present at family occasions and was an active member of St Elidyr’s, Crunwere, playing the organ there for many years. Upon moving to Kilgetty she joined various clubs and groups, including the Joybells which was close to her heart and was always happiest whilst in the company of family and friends.

She was predeceased by Herbert James, who passed away 20 years ago.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Alan James (son); Rachel and Adam (grandchildren); Bethani, Arianna and Gracie- Mae (great grandchildren); Mrs Mollie James and Mrs Meriel Shepherd and their families (sisters-in-law).

The service was held at St Mary’s Church, Begelly followed by interment at St Elidyr’s Church Cemetery, Crunwere on November 16.

It was officiated by Rev Caroline Mansell and the bearers were Chris and Gary Shepherd, Ross and Lewis James, John Rodham and Tim Owen (nephews and nephews-inlaw).

Mr C G Bellmaine

Pembroke Dock

MR Colin George Bellmaine of Church Street, Pembroke Dock passed away at home on October 30.

He was 80.

Colin was born in London but had lived in Wales since the age of three.

He started his apprenticeship as a brick layer and stone mason at the age of 15 with George Argent and Co Ltd. His reputation was unsurpassed and he leaves a legacy of buildings throughout the county. In his later career he became a trainer teaching brick laying and stone masonry and loved nothing more than passing on his skills to others.

One of his main interests was fishing. He liked nothing better than taking a photo of his catch, pictures always had a similar pose with the fish held at arms length to the camera to enlarge the back of the fish. It always looked that much bigger because he was only 5’ 4”. Colin loved all sport but favoured boxing, rugby, football and darts of which he was extremely knowledgeable. He loved nothing more than watching his children and grandchildren playing rugby and football at Pembroke Dock Quins and Monkton Swifts.

The family left to mourn are a much loved husband to Anne; father and father-inlaw to Jason and Kellie, Julie, Stuart and David; deeply loved grandfather of Sophie, Charlotte, Jonathan, George, Tom and Amie; great grandfather to Raewyn and Jack; a much loved sister to Rene; brother-in-law to Mick and uncle to Sue; great uncle to Ellie, Martha and Freddie.

The service was held at St John’s Church, Pembroke Dock, followed by interment at Llanion Cemetery on November 10 and it was officiated by Rev Colin Everett.

The bearers were Jason (son); George (grandson); Stuart (son-in-law); Jonathan (grandson); David (son); Steven (close friend).

Miss A Rabaiotti

Milford Haven

MISS Alma Rabaiotti of Steynton Road, Milford Haven passed away at Fairfield Nursing Home, Johnston on November 6. She was 89.

Originally from Milford Haven she was the owner and proprietor of Rabaiotti’s Café, restaurant and ice cream factory.

She retired in the early 90’s from family business but continued with the ice cream factory.

Alma was a wonderful cook who loved nothing more than to entertain family and friends.

She loved travelling to Bardi, Italy. She was also a member of Probus and she attended St Francis RC Church.

The family left to mourn are Lidia Steinvoort, sister (Utah, USA); Tina Jones, Antonia and Richard Hackett (Canada), Mark and Rachel Antoniazzi, Dean Walters, Sandra Steinvoort and Carin Cloward and Tom (Utah, USA); great nieces and nephews Carla and Joel Rendell, Leah Antoniazzi-Jones, Miles and Lucia Hackett (Canada); Mia Antoniazzi, Adrian Cloward (USA), Tess and Sophie, Luigino Pini and family (Jonathon, Remo, Lisa and Adriana).

The funeral service was held at St Francis RC Church followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn and was officiated by Father Paul Osunyikanmi.

Donations for the Paul Sartori Foundation, Winch Lane, Haverfordwest.

Mrs R Etherington

Milford Haven

MRS Ruth Etherington of Kensington Court, Milford Haven passed away on Monday November 13 at Withybush Hospital. She was 78.

From the age of 19, she was the owner of Ruth’s the hairdressers and later the proprietor of Breton House Fashions, situated at 88 Charles Street, Milford Haven.

Ruth retired in 2010, when Breton House finally closed its doors after 37 years of business.

Ruth was a beautiful person, both inside and out.

She was a much loved and admired personality in the town. In the kind words of the Todaro family ‘Ruth set the standard of fashion in hair and clothes for decades.

She was an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed’.

Ruth and her husband Bryan, cared lovingly for their dear son Lee after he suffered a severe head injury in an accident in 1980.

Ruth was a much loved wife, mother and grandmother (Ba). Her family and many friends are devastated by her loss.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Mr Bryan Etherington (husband); Lee Etherington (son); Jayne Etherington and Guy Willett (daughter and daughter’s partner); Caitlin Ruth Edwards (granddaughter); Rhys David Edwards (grandson); Veronica Alderwick (sister-in-law); Jackie Etherington (sister-in-law); Geraldine Buckley (cousin).

The funeral service was held at St Katharine’s and St Peters Church, Milford Haven on November 27 followed by interment at Milford Haven Cemetery. It was officiated by Father Harry Williams.
