A HAVERFORDWEST art gallery which helps veterans is £200 better off thanks to the town’s Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
Ebenezer presented a cheque for £200 to the VC Gallery on Wednesday, January 10. The collection was the proceeds of money donated in lieu of sending Christmas cards around the church.
The Veterans in the Community, VC Gallery was started by Barry John MBE, mainly to help veterans readjust back into civilian life providing help in accessing welfare and support. This has now grown and now provides help to the wider community, not only veterans but people with mental and physical disabilities both young and old and to anyone who feels alone, disadvantaged or isolated.
Recent projects include Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance, Youth Art projects and Rural Engagement outreach.
The Rural Outreach includes art sessions in local village halls, churches etc for people to come and take part and then see their work displayed in the venue in a special exhibition.
Most of the artwork is now on display in the gallery in Bridge Street for members of the public to view and purchase. For more information about the VC Gallery call in to 30 High Street, Haverfordwest, 9.30am-5pm Monday-Friday.
