THE people of Pembrokeshire have helped raise more than £7,500 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Following the sad death of 18-year-old Daniel Bridle of Saundersfoot, who lost his battle with bone cancer in 2014, Susan and Brian McKehon were inspired to fundraise for the disease's charity.

The couple, from Pentlepoir, spent many hours over two months selling raffle tickets and making bucket collections in supermarkets throughout Pembrokeshire and also organised a harbourside Christmas concert in Saundersfoot.

The grand total of £7,546.39 has now been presented to Daniel's mum, Caroline Bridle, on behalf of the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Mr and Mrs McKehon thanked everyone who had supported them in their fundraising and individuals and businesses, both local and national, who donated raffle prizes.

Added Mrs McKehon: "Last, but not least, a huge thank you to the people of Pembrokeshire and beyond who donated so generously to this worthy cause."

This year's Christmas concert in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust will be held on Saundersfoot Harbour on Thursday December 20.
