Newcastle Emlyn will be alive with activities tomorrow, Monday, February 26 as the officially recognised Fairtrade town celebrated Fairtrade Fortnight.

“Fairtrade Fortnight shows support for the people who grow our food in developing countries,” explained Jill Sutton, founding member of the Newcastle Emlyn Fairtrade Group and owner of the Fair and Fabulous shop.

“When trade is fair it can improve the lives of the producers and make the world a better place.

“We want you to think about choosing products with the Fairtrade logo when you do your shopping, in the knowledge you are supporting trade justice as well as helping the communities where the products are made. The logo guarantees that the producers are paid a fair wage, have good working conditions and the production process doesn’t damage the environment.

“There are lots opportunities to have fun, find out more about Fairtrade and show your support.”
