A night out proved costly for a drunk and disorderly Pembroke man who broke his arm in two places and had to pay £155 after abusing police officers.

Brian Raymond Watkins Llewellyn, of Coldwell Terrace, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday.

Abul Hussain, prosecuting, told the court that police found Llewellyn, 43, angry and aggressive after officers were called to a report of a disturbance in Rocky Park on March 3.

He became abusive when the officers tried to ascertain how he had sustained a swollen eye, and was arrested.

Mr Hussain added that Llewellyn had previous convictions, and the offence put him in breach of a crown court suspended sentence.

Mike Kelleher, defending, told the bench that Llewellyn had been ‘jumped’ while out and received a black eye.

He spoke ‘tidily’ with one officer, but clashed with the other and accepted swearing at him.

“He was arrested and put to the floor, he has broken his arm in two places, so it has been a very costly evening for him.”

Magistrates fined Llewellyn £40 and ordered him to pay £85 costs plus a £30 victim surcharge.
