EMERGENCY services worked together to help a distressed man at Broad Haven South yesterday.

The incident at St Govan’s, near Broad Haven South, saw the police working with the coastguard and the RNLI to help the distressed man.

The man was found on a cliff at Saddle Point by a police helicopter.

The coastguard said that they were called by Dyfed-Powys Police at 11.20am yesterday for assistance in the Tenby and Stackpole areas.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said: "We sent the St Govans and Tenby rescue teams and the RNLI lifeboats to assist with that search.

A statement from the RNLI said: “The lifeboat, which had been requested by the Police, made its way to the scene, some nine miles west of Tenby.

“Shortly after arriving at Saddle Point, the lifeboat was joined by the Police RIB from Neyland and both boats stood by whilst Police dealt with the incident.”

A police spokesperson said: "I can confirm this activity formed part of a search for a missing person, who was found safe at Broad Haven South shortly after 1.15pm yesterday (May 3). He was taken to hospital."
