EMERGENCY services scoured the coast path on Saturday night (May 5) in a search for a missing pensioner.
The 72-year-old man had got lost on the coast path between Dinas and Newport.
He had become disorientated in thick sea mist and was unable to establish his location.
The man was diabetic and had not eaten for six hours. He did not have a torch with him and could not establish his location.
Moylegrove coastguards and the police were involved in the search. The man was able to give a stile number which gave them an indication of his whereabouts.
The man was found by a police dog and her handler miles from where he thought he was.
He was hypothermic and hungry but was soon taken to safety and was reported as safe and well by Dyfed-Powys police dog handling team.
