A MOTHER who wants to raise £1million in memory of her little daughter was welcomed to Withybush Hospital on Friday (May 11).

Natalia Spencer has currently clocked up £235,000 and more than 6,000 miles in tribute to her five-year-old daughter Elizabeth.

After reaching Pembrokeshire three days ago, Natalia stopped off for tea and cake at the county's hospital, where she was welcomed with open arms by children's ward staff.

Members of the PACU Puffin Ward also presented the walking wonder-mum with gifts, including a foot spa to bathe her aching feet, and a bright balloon creation courtesy of Little Monsters.

A cake, plant and bric-a-brac sale also raised more than £180 towards Elizabeth’s Footprint - with donations going to support Bristol Children’s Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Natalia said people's support during her epic routes across the UK were what kept her going.

"It is amazing, I did not expect any of this today," she said.

"I have made so many friends, through staying in people's homes, or having them join me for part of the walk.

"I do not notice the rain when I have such lovely company."

Nikki Davies, of the Puffin Ward, said: "What Natalia is doing is amazing, her positivity, and we really wanted to do something special to make her feel welcome at Withybush."
