THE "LARGEST landslip in years" at Pembrokeshire's Blue Lagoon left nearby visitors shook up.

The popular north Pembrokeshire beauty spot was rocked by a landslip this Saturday, June 23.

Witnesses at the scene said there was a huge dust cloud, as well as a lot of rumbling and crashing, which left crowds of visitors shaken.

Posting on Facebook, local coasteering company, Celtic Quest Coasteering, said: "BIG landslip in the lagoon last weekend.

"Follow the signage and avoid the back wall on the beach end, same goes for the cliff top.

"Pics taken moments after the landslip. Big dust cloud, lots of rumbling/crashing, a fair few shaken up visitors and a big ginger patch left on the cliff face.

"Biggest slip we've seen in many years. Adventure safely folks."

The National Trust North Pembrokeshire tweeted about the landslip, urging visitors to remain cautious in the area.

The Pembrokeshire coast path is reported to be still open in the area.

Abereiddy's Blue Lagoon is a former slate quarry, which was active up until 1910, when it was flooded.

The lagoon has hosted the The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in 2012, 2013, and 2016.
