A HAVERFORDWEST volunteer at Paul Sartori was one of three volunteers out of hundreds of nominees to be shortlisted for the prestigious National Charity Retail Awards.

The Paul Sartori Hospice at Home Service provides a range of services to people living in the final stages of a life limiting illness.

The recent awards saw the best of the UK’s charity retail sector come together, including volunteers, staff, and partners to celebrate outstanding achievements throughout the country.

Paul Sartori Retail Volunteer Supervisor Gill Jones was nominated for the Volunteer of the Year category by the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home Service for the exceptional volunteering she has carried out over many years.

Even though Gill didn’t win, it was a huge accolade to be shortlisted from the best of the best in the charity retail sector across the UK.

Gill has been a retail volunteer supervisor for Paul Sartori for eight years at its Haverfordwest store and is exceptionally committed and dedicated to the charity.

Gill also helps out with events and fundraising and has been instrumental in organising many charity fashion shows over the years in partnership with local groups.

Paul Sartori Volunteering Coordinator Caroline White said: “Gill always makes others laugh and have fun while volunteering for us. Her bubbly fun-loving personality, exuberance and strength of character is such a shining light within the charity, she is loved by everyone and is truly remarkable, one in a million - an exceptional inspiring volunteer we wish we could clone. If any volunteer deserved recognition, then it is definitely Gill.”
