A MEETING due to be held in Fishguard today which promoted anti-LGBTQ views has been cancelled.
The meeting, promoted by a leaflet which was given out around the town, was due to be held at a shop at 3pm.
A group calling itself the Evangelists Corner had organised it, and expressed views in their leaflet against same-sex marriage and transgender people.
The leaflet also called on Ofsted, the education watchdog in England, to not teach children about LGBTQ issues, and advocated teaching creationism in schools.
A planned protest by concerned residents will still take place in Fishguard from 2.45pm.
Members of Pembs Plus, a group set up to support the local LGBTQ community will take part in the peaceful demonstration.
On its Facebook page, the group said: "The event later will still go ahead as planned and will be an important pride event making a stand against this hateful language and rhetoric."
