BEAUTIFUL sunshine and a bumper amount of fancy dress entries made this year’s Letterston Carnival a sunny success last Saturday.

Floats assembled on the Village Green where the crowning ceremony took place by the president of the day, county councillor Michelle Bateman. The King and Queen were Bobby Franklin and Elsa Parry who were escorted by princes Ronnie Groves, Harry Evans and Rylee Campbell and princesses Mia Parry, Hanna Evans and Chantelle Hedley.

This year’s Mr Letterston was Thomas Evans and Miss Letterston was Bethan Williams, they were attended by Libby Baskerville.

The procession toured the village ending in the Memorial Hall and field where fun games and stalls awaited them.

John, Eileen and Gladys Goddard judged this year’s fancy dress competition and Rev. G Eynon held the day together as MC.

Fabulous entertainment was provided by Mellusion Magic.

“There was a lovely atmosphere,” said organiser Babs Johnson. “It was sich a nice day and very sociable. It was lovely.

“Special thanks to all who helped in any way and also to the numerous people of all ages who turned out in fancy dress.”

The fancy dress winners were: Girls under 5- Anna from Frozen; Isabella Baker, Boys under 5-Court Jester; Leo Davies-Bowen, Girls under 10-Unicorn; Indi Patterson, Boys under 10-Prince from Shrek; Luca Morrillo, Girls under 15-Sailor; Chelsea Lamb, Character over 15-Pinoccio;Tim Elliot, Best Pair/Group- Shrek family. Joint winners of the best float were HMS Letterston, who donated their prize to Help for Heroes and Life’s a Fairytale who donated their prize to The Luca Foundation.
