Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority members were paid £73,136 in basic and senior salaries in the last financial year (April 1 2017 to March 31 2018).

Allowances are determined by the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales, whose remit to prescribe Members’ salaries extended to National Park Authorities in 2012.

During the 2017/18 financial year, Welsh Government appointee Ms Christine Gwyther finished her term of office, while Pembrokeshire County Councillors Stan Hudson, Rob Lewis, David Rees, Lyn Jenkins and Bob Kilmister left following the 2017 Local Government Elections.

During this time the Welsh Government appointed Mrs Julie James, Dr Ruth Heath-Davies and Dr Rosetta Plummer to authority, while the new Members appointed by Pembrokeshire County Council were Cllrs Di Clements, Kevin Doolin, Phil Kidney and Steve Yelland.

Members attend a range of meetings on behalf of the authority for which their expenses are included in the ‘Travel & Subsistence’ section.

Reimbursement of travelling, subsistence and other expense payments amounted to £9,116 in the last financial year.

The summarised payments are listed in the chart below, where members’ attendance is shown as a percentage of the number of meetings organised by the authority at which the member was expected to attend.
