RUNNERS of all ages defied last night's drizzle to take part in Saundersfoot's inaugural FootStep Run.
It is being combined with the TenFoot Swim and TenFoot Trek today (Saturday) with the aim of raising £20,000 for three good causes.
Around 850 people have entered the three events, which are in aid of Paul Sartori Hospice at Home; the Wales Air Ambulance and the Dai Rees Foundation, which provides pre-hospital emergency care training to communities around the world.
The inaugural FootStep Run, sponsored by FBM Estate Agents, was centred on Saundersfoot yesterday.
Crowds turned out in damp conditions to enjoy the fun, which began with a children's race along and back down The Strand, with former Wales rugby star Ian Gough amongst those cheering on the youngsters.
This was followed runs of one, three or five miles, taking in the Strand, Coppett Hall, the tunnels along to Wiseman's Bridge and Heritage Park at Stepaside.
Today (Saturday), the FBM Holidays TenFoot Swim started at Tenby's North Beach at 11.30am, with 300 entrants making their way along the 5km course towards Saundersfoot, supported by a fleet of safety craft.
