A super sea monster with an environmental message is appearing from the deep in Pembrokeshire this week.

Measuring 20 feet long, Cragen has been created from plastic waste by the Cardigan-based Small World Theatre.

The company will be taking the maritime giant on visits to ten coastal locations in Wales to deliver an important clean seas message during Year of the Sea.

Cragen's first call in Pembrokeshire will be Tenby on Friday, where she will appear on the sea off the North beach at 7pm for a short performance.

As with any leading lady, she will be staying around the beach for 'selfies' with her audience and people are being encouraged to share their sightings on social media using the hashtags #cleanseacragen #findyourepic #cleanseas.

In Tenby, the performance will be followed by a community beach clean, led by Keep Wales Tidy and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority summer rangers.

The project has received European and Welsh Government funding through the Tourism Product Innovation Fund (TPIF).

Said Wales' minister for tourism, culture and sport, Lord Elis-Thomas: "The Welsh Government is committed to reducing the use of single-use plastics, and I'm delighted that we've been able to support this innovative project by the Small World Theatre."

Cragen can also be seen this summer at Stackpole Quay at 8pm on August 3 and The Parrog, Goodwick at noon on August 17.

She will also be making an appearance at the Giant Lantern Parade in Cardigan on December 12.
