POLICE have confirmed that an incident in the Wisemen's Bridge area where there were reports of a man with a knife is now over.
A spokesperson said: "We can confirm the police activity in the Wisemans Bridge area of Pembrokeshire has now come to an end.
"Officers have located a knife, and a man will be questioned in connection with the incident in another force area.
"We would like to thank the public for their assistance and patience as searches were carried out."
Witnesses saw armed police and a specialist dog unit in the area at around 5.10pm on Wednesday, with officers stationed at a nearby caravan park, and others combing the beach.
Police vehicles were spotted between Wisemans Bridge and Saundersfoot, with officers also at Coppet Hall and Saundersfoot.
One witness said he saw "five officers armed to the teeth with sub-machine guns, pistols, and body armour" standing on the Summerhill side of Wisemans Bridge.
Dyfed-Powys Police conducted a thorough search that started yesterday evening and on into today.
