Though the Caldey Swim may have been cancelled and, at the moment, it’s not the weather for buckets and spades at the beach, you can still have a great time in Tenby today as the town’s lifeboat station throws open its doors for its annual open day.

This is the only time of the year you can have a guided tour around the Haydn Miller lifeboat and meet the crew, the viewing gallery and the shop is also open.

The event runs until 4.30pm. At 5pm the Tamar class lifeboat will be launched down the lifeboat slip for a recovery exercise. Spectators who get there early will get the chance to watch this from the viewing gallery where there is limited space.

Another recommended view point is Castle Hill, Tenby.
