A multi-agency operation was launched from Tenby this evening (Sunday), following reports of a mysterious object in the sea.
At 8.40pm the resort’s coastguard rescue team, along with Tenby inshore lifeboat (ILB) crew, were paged to investigate an object in the water after a member of the public had reported concerns.
Tenby ILB found the concerning object, which turned out to be a large log, and towed it back into Tenby harbour.
Tenby Coastguard team then did a sweep of the area up to and including Waterwynch Bay before being stood down.
The call was treated as a false alarm with good intent.
