MOTORING mayhem was caused in Haverfordwest’s High Street this morning when a Vauxhall car rolled backwards down the hill damaging at least five parked vehicles in its wake.

It is believed there may have been issues with the handbrake on the car.

Fortunately no-one appears to have been hurt during the incident, which took place shortly before 11am today, August 14.

One eye witness said: “Car rolled down High St and has hit several cars, police there now.”

A customer told me about the incident shortly after it happened

Another, Daryl Millar, owner of vape shop 'Vape Allsorts' in Quay Street,  was told about the incident by a customer and walked to nerby High Street to survey the damage.

He said: “Car tore down High Street backwards after having the handbrake left off, or failed. No injuries and someone apparently managed to stop it before it reached pedestrians; minimum of five other cars damaged.”

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "Police received reports of a car damaging several parked cars on High Street, Haverfordwest, at around 10.45am on Tuesday, August 14.

"No-one was in the Vauxhall Insignia at the time, no one was hurt and the road was not blocked.

"No police attendance was required."
