A NEW lavender farm in Pembrokeshire is one of three sustainable projects open to the public on Saturday to raise money for a village church.

Manorbier Lavender, together with Willow Farm - both in Manorbier Newton - and Natural Habitats in Jameston will be opening their gates between 2pm and 6pm in aid of the Save St Florence Church fund.

Visitors are asked to give donations to the appeal fund.

The lavender farm, on one of Manorbier Newton's ancient strip fields, was set up last year when 1,800 lavender plants were planted. The crop has now been harvested and freshly-dried lavender is for sale.

Willow Park is a One Planet Development, with a five-year plan for the cultivation of willow and plants for the gourmet market and the use of innovative methods of permaculture.

Natural Habitats was started in 2014, and is a purposely-created area of diverse habitats which provide a safe, unpolluted environment for birds, mammals, invertebrates and plants.

Limited parking is available, but walking visitors are encouraged.

Refreshments will be available at 'Wildlife Corridors', courtesy of St Florence Church.
