THE thrills and spills of soapbox car racing drew huge crowds to Pembroke Dock’s Memorial park today, September 1, for the Pembroke Dock Dockbox Derby.
Some 500 people watched the eight teams race their colourful cars around the park.
The eventual winners on the day were Red Arrows Grandads, driven by local lads from Pembroke Dock, with second place going to Skeltor, and the bronze to The Roses.
Antonia McBride, who organised the event with Pembroke Dock Town Team, said: “The day went fantastic, overall I'm really pleased with how the day went. We will do it again next year, bigger and better I'm sure.”
Sponsors were Pisgah Motors, Gravels Kia Motors of Narberth, Parfitts Carpets, Rembrants jewellers, Genpower, Card Craft in Pembroke Dock post office, Aegis insurance, and Crystal.
